Stepping in you're greatest by a mait're de, a wonderful family man who understands the necessities of parenthood. And that really is the key for this establishment, whether through love of the craft or love for their families this truly is a family restaurant. You're going to be greeted with an aesthetic that I know from my childhood. At one point in time this restaurant was finely divided between smoking and non-smoking some 25 years ago. That question has long since been rendered superfluous but the architecture from that time is still present. Of note however is the lovely little free library they keep in the front breezeway. The food is amazing, I am as always a die hard fan of Reubens, and this establishment is no slouch. The menu is extensive and the kids meals are large, with breakfast items being served at all hours of the day. My only complaint is the price of the food, although I fear that's more a sign of the times and a reluctant acceptance from the establishment. Whether despite this or in acknowledgement the portions are sized for plenty of leftovers. The staff is personal and good at what they do, the few times we've come here we've made several odd requests that were handled swiftly and without fuss, a plate of pickles, a plate of olives, a towel to mop up after my children spilled their water, etc. This does mean that sometimes the wait is long for the wait staff to get back to you, however it was more than worth the wait and the patience. I highly recommend the Glenville Queen diner if you're in the area and looking for a meal.

"Quite pricy for a diner, but hey, the food was good." Ordered online over their website, which may not see much use as the diner was seemingly confounded by the fact they had received an online order. (not that they weren't ready, just shocked) Went with an appetizer order of Calamari, and the main entree of the Broiled Fisherman's Platter with a side of onion rings and a side salad. In total the price came to a little over $47, which compared to other diners I have visited recently was on the pricier side by a full ten bucks. What about the food itself. Well the onion rings weren't crispy, but they had some banging flavor. The calamari was really good, but they weirdly topped it with feta cheese and diced tomato. The side salad was fresh, though it was 25% made up of celery which is a weird choice for a garden salad. As for the main dish, the fisherman's platter, it was just plain delicious. The haddock was cooked perfectly, the scallops the same, the clams were a fun treat in their shell with the topping, and the shrimp were not so much stuffed as they were wrapped in a breading akin to a seasoned hushpuppy. Overall the food was good, but it didn't blow any competitors out of the water. So even though it felt like I could have gotten the same quality meal from other restaurants nearby, my wallet was still a full Hamilton lighter.

Very good michigans for the Capital district area. Flavorful and hit the spot. I prefer a different hot dog. The Omelette was very filling. Could use more seasoning but I prefer to add to taste. Attentive service and nice atmosphere.

Perfect diner. Don't miss this one of your in the area. Super conversation and food knowledge. Pleasant staff all around. Waitress went on break and told us she would have another waitress cover, and she introduced herself. Good pricing. Food was delicious and fresh tasting.

Food was absolutely amazing but when dessert time came, waitress took about six minutes to give us our dessert menu. Music was great and the people around us were very nice. waitress refilled beverages every time they got low. I was also pleasantly surprised when I got four small two medium sized chicken tenders that tasted delicious although ketchup was not Heinz. It tasted even better and was superb Food for 3 cost more than $60 including tips. overall, food tasted delicious. As for the music and overall atmosphere the music was great and the atmosphere was wonderful even the owner asked us if everything was going all right -from calvin and Nina, niece and nephew

I have been coming to the Glenville Queen diner for many years, and the food is always consistently good, the owners family has made us feel very welcome and even went above and beyond to treat us to a meal after our mother passed away in a beautiful act of kindness. The service is consistent and accurate. It's one of my favorite family spots for breakfast, lunch or a filling dinner. Its a warm, welcoming family environment.

I went there for lunch with a friend from church Sunday. The restaurant was very busy, so I guess our waiter John was acting a bit rushed. My friend asked for peppers and onions in her hash browns, it took a while before John got it right. My friend also wanted coffee, but she decided not to. My cheese omelette as usual was very good. My friend liked her western omelette too. "Some day" I'm going to try one of their many desserts!!! Good food for a local diner, one of the best in the area!!!

Nestled in the heart of Schenectady, Glenville Queen Diner is a timeless spot where classic American comfort food meets a welcoming, family-oriented atmosphere. Located at 210 Saratoga Rd, this diner carries the charm of a bygone era, from its nostalgic architecture to the friendly greeting by the maître d', who clearly understands the importance of family—an ethos that radiates throughout the entire experience.

The menu is a celebration of diner classics elevated with care and flavor. Standouts include the Eggs Benedict, perfectly poached with rich hollandaise; the Patty Melt, which boasts melty cheese and savory caramelized onions layered between toasted rye; and the Mushroom Swiss Burger, a juicy delight that marries earthy mushrooms with Swiss cheese in every bite.
